Experience: I am a graduate of North Carolina Central University's School Counseling Master's program. I earned my undergraduate degree from Western Carolina University where I received a Bachelor's of Science in Forensic Anthropology in 2007. I began my career working with adolescents ranging in ages 7-19. I have worked with children in varying settings such as the public school system, alternative learning centers, and through mental health and community based facilities.
My Belief: In accordance with the ASCA National Model, I believe in focusing on the academic, personal/social, and career development of
all students in an effort to assist them with becoming successful and productive citizens. As a result of working with a diverse population during previous career experiences I have become more culturally competent and aware of the needs of the student population. My
educational experience contributes to my empathy and genuine want to assist those individuals who are need of additional support.
1st place recipient of the 2010 North Carolina School Counseling Association Poster Session.
"Celebrating the Skin You're In," a program centered around character education.
Personal: My husband and I enjoy going to the movies, reading the newspaper, cooking together and checking out local restaurants. My daughter is a lover of all things active. She is currently exploring the worlds of gymnastics and dance. This is also her first year in elementary school. In my free time I like to read, run, try new cookie recipes and travel to the beach.
